After months of testing Notizen Widget on Android, I am building a flexible system so every user can filter any Notion database in their own way.

The Notizen Widget requires a configuration in your database for best results. It's really simple: just 4 properties and their types, explained here.
Notizen Widget is a productivity tool for Android that allows users to connect directly to their Notion databases and display reminders in a clear and customizable widget.

Why I started Notizen
The idea behind Notizen is to create a productivity system that anyone can shape to match their daily flow. Android was my first choice because it is easy for me to access and it lets me customise the experience right from the lock screen.
Learning by building with AI
The widget began as a small test to connect services and see how far I could go by guiding an AI with clear prompts. Many ideas only worked after several rounds of trial and error, but each iteration made the product more helpful for my own routine.
From personal tool to flexible platform
Every improvement so far came from my personal use. When I found a bug, a missing detail, or a new feature to try, I wrote it down and asked Codex to build it. After almost four months of this habit, the widget feels great for me—but it still reflects my single way of working.
What comes next
The current version ships with hard-coded queries that only work with my own Notion template. That is not enough for most people. My next milestone is to let every user connect any Notion database and create filters that fit their own ideas.
- Choose any Notion database, not only the default template.
- Build custom filters with an interface that feels clear and safe.
- Save multiple views so switching between work, personal, or side projects is fast.
Let's build it
I am now sketching the flow that will make these filters possible. The goal is a widget that greets you the moment you unlock your phone with the exact information you care about. If that vision excites you, stay close—we are building it together.
